Discover iconic Flores Island, starting from Ende – a gateway to the famous three colour lakes of Kelimutu National Park. Explore traditional houses of the Lio Tribe, in Wologai. Head to Bena Village in Bajawa, and Kampung Todo Village in Manggarai. Go island hopping within the north of Flores Island. Visit 17 Island National Park in Ruing, and Komodo National Park in the south west of Flores. Our itinerary can be tailor made to your specific needs. Itinerary

DAY 01: BALI – MAUMERE – MONI

Early morning flight from Denpasar Ngurah Rai Airport to Frans Xavier Seda Airport, Maumere. Our local representative will greet you upon arrival, and take you to Moni – a small village on the slope of Kelimutu Lake. Enroute stops include Wuring Fishermen Village, followed by Sikka for the tour of an old catholic church that was built by Jesuit and Sikkanese missionaries. Proceed to Paga, and relax on a black sand beach, where lunch will be served at a local restaurant. After lunch, continue to Jopu, a traditional house of the Ende Lioness Tribe, with unique interior and exterior construction. At last, drive up to Moni Village, which is the central point to visit to Kelimutu Lake. Check into the hotel, where dinner will be served.

DAY 02: MONI- KELIMUTU- RIUNG

At pre-dawn, drive to the top of Kelimutu mountain, to see the sunrise (weather permitting) and the wonderful three colored lake. Return to Moni for breakfast. Head to the traditional village of Wologai, Lio tribes. A stop will be made at Nua Bosi, to enjoy the vista of Ende town, with Mt Iya and Meja, one of Flores’ famous volcanos in the background. Continue to Nanga Penda, to see the beautiful blue stone beach. Continue the drive to Mbay, to see the beautiful rice field with its amazing panorama of the savannah that surrounds the village. Afterward, drive through to Riung for your overnight accommodation and dinner.

DAY 03: RIUNG 17 ISLAND NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, start your journey to explore the exotic islands of Riung 17 National Park. Head to the harbor for a boat transfer, and sail to Ontoloe Island to watch the flying foxes. Continue to the tiny, beautiful islands of Rutong, Tembang, and Pulau Tiga. Snorkel amid perfect coral reefs, swim in turquoise blue waters, and hike to the summit of Rutong for a breath-taking view of Riung 17 Islands. Enjoy a lunch of fresh grilled fish on Pulau 3 Island. In the afternoon, sail back to Riung. Dinner and overnight stay in Riung.

DAY 04: RIUNG – BAJAWA

Upon finishing breakfast, drive to Soa to bask in the warm waters of the Menggeruda hot springs. In the afternoon, head to Bajawa for your hotel check in. Enjoy the local flavours of the region. Dinner will be served at the hotel or local restaurant.

DAY 05: BAJAWA – BENA – RUTENG

Your day begins with a drive to the south of Bajawa to see Bena – the biggest traditional village in Flores Island. Glimpse the megalithic stones and hand weaving craft. Once back in Bajawa, head to Aimere District – one of the famous local “Arak” distillations in Flores Island. Continue the drive to Ruteng, stopping enroute at Ranamese to see the beautiful lake and rice terraces. In the afternoon, arrive in Ruteng. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 06: RUTENG –DENGE – WAE REBO

After breakfast, drive to Denge Village, nestled in the south of Ruteng. Enjoy an authentic lunch at one of their local houses. Commence your journey to the isolated village of Waerebo, which will take approximately 3 hours depending upon your walking speed. Trek through the rainy forest, enjoying the song of birds, before arriving at the village. Upon arrival, the leader of the village welcomes you in Manggarain (the local language).
Ask your guide to teach you more about their way of living. Dinner and accommodation will be served at the house of Waerebo.

DAY 07: WAE REBO VILLAGE – LEMBOR – LABUAN BAJO

An early bird wake up is recommended, to soak in the local culture. Take pictures of the traditional house, Mbaru Niang, in Manggarain. After breakfast, descend to Denge Village to continue your journey to Lembor sub-district – the biggest rice field irrigation in Flores.
Lunch will be served at the local houses. A stop will be made at Melo Village, for an amazing view of the tiny islands that surround the Komodo National Park. In the afternoon, drive to Labuanbajo, where dinner will be served at the hotel or local restaurant.

DAY 08: LABUANBAJO- KANAWA – MANTA POINT- LOH LIANG, KOMODO ISLAND -KALONG KOMODO

Kickstart your morning by embarking on a wooden motorized boat to Kanawa Island. Intimate yourself with coral reefs, numerous tropical fish, crystal-clear waters and white sands. Lunch will be served on the boat. Afterward, continue navigation to Karang Makasar. Swim in the turquoise waters of Manta Ray point. If luck is with you, you can snorkel and swim over the groups of Manta Ray. Finally, sail to Loh Liang, Komodo Island, to see the Komodo dragon and other stunning wild life such as Timor deer, wild boar, and green imperial pageants. Return to the boat and continue to Pink Beach, another wonderful snorkelling spot. Explore the neon beauty of coral reefs and tropical fish, while relaxing on the shores. Refreshments will be served on the boat. Sail to Kalong Island. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay on the boat.

DAY 09: KOMODO ISLAND – PADAR ISLAND – RINCA ISLAND-KALONG RINCA

Begin your day by sailing to Padar Island. Trek to the summit for a panoramic view of the lush environs. Return to the boat and make your way to Loh Buaya and Rinca Island. Spot the Komodo dragon (and its nest) and other majestic wild life such as the long tail macaque, Timor deer, and wild boar. Next, glide along the blue waters to the scenic Kambing Island. Explore exotic coral reefs and colorful fish. In the afternoon, sail to Kalong Island to witness thousands of bats flying out of the mangrove in search of fruits. Here, the boat anchors overnight. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay on the boat.

DAY 10: RINCA VILLAGE – KELOR ISLAND- LABUANBAJO- BALI

Spend your morning strolling through the fisherman villages of Rinca, where you can engage with the locals, and even visit the primary school.
Pop back to the boat for breakfast, and sail to Kelor Island. Upon arrival, trek to the summit for magical views of the surrounding islands and Labuan bajo town. Descend to the slope of the island, where you can explore the beautiful coral reefs, swim in the sparkling waters, and sunbath on the white-sand beach. After a lazy afternoon, sail back to Labuan Bajo. Disembark, and transfer to the airport, for your flight back to Bali or other neighbouring destinations.
